To unlock your phone see these guidelines:
- The device must be an AT&T phone or device locked to AT&T's network.
- The device must not be reported as lost or stolen.
- The account associated with the device must be in good standing, meaning no past due balance or unpaid bills.
- The device must be active on the AT&T network for at least 60 days if it's a postpaid device. For prepaid devices, at least six months of paid service is required.
- If the device is under an installment plan, it must be fully paid off.
To begin the unlock process:
- Visit the AT&T Device Unlock Portal.
- Select "Unlock your device."
- Enter your AT&T mobile number or the IMEI number of your device.
- Complete the form with your name, email, and other required information.
- Submit the request.
- You will receive a confirmation email with instructions to complete the unlocking process.
- Follow the instructions in the email to finish unlocking your device.
OR
- Call AT&T Customer Service at 1-800-331-0500 or 611 from an AT&T device.
- Provide the representative with your account details and device IMEI number.
- Follow the instructions provided by the representative to complete the unlock request.
Additional Notes:
Military personnel can request unlocking without meeting the minimum service requirements by providing deployment documents.
Once unlocked, the device can be used with other carriers that use GSM technology.
